The basic advantage of obtaining your own domain name and web hosting account is that you are protected. If your web designer goes out of business, you can easily move to another designer by providing account access information for your domain and host accounts.

WebChesapeake has worked with seveal host companies and recommend the following reliable and afordable website hosts. We have established affiliate accounts with these hosts and will waive our website set-up fees, if you click on the logos on the right to purchase your service from one of these host providers.

» BlueHost Web Hosting

BlueHost has been providing hosting solutions to thousands of business and personal web sites since 1996. They offer a single host plan which will accommodate 95% of all small local businesses. You can also get a free domain name with your hosting account. I recomend this host for businesses that require a single website. Plan costs are discounted based on the term of the agreement and fees are payable upfront.

» HostRocket Web Hosting

HostRocket offers what they call a "Reseller Account" which I recommend if you have a need for more than one website. Each website can be easily set-up separately and you can add new domains at any time. This plan is also great if you need a business website, but also want a separate business or personal blog. The monthly cost is discounted based on the term of the agreement. As of this writing they are offering a special $4.95/month for a two year term ($118.80 paid up front).

Note: It is important that you keep your account ID and password for these host accounts as these will need to be provided to WebChesapeake to enable us to load and set-up your website. If you do not obtain your host account through our affiliate account, we will charge a $120.00 set-up fee to load and test your website to your host account.
